Need Hollowbody Bass Bridge w/adjustable Intonation

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello,
I've been all over the Web looking for a hollow body bass bridge with adjustable intonation, and other than a clumsy looking Hohner, have had no luck.

What I envision is something like the wood bridge on an archtop guitar, only with full contact along the bottom (not two legs) and some serious width, perhaps 3/4" or so for maximum sound transfer, height adjustment (wheel/screws) and intonation adjustment, something like a tunomatic bridge with screws that move each string saddle forward or back.

Something elegant looking like some of the better old archtop guitar bridges, only beefier. Another idea I had was a possible
pickup built in to maximize the acoustic sound.

Is there anything like this out there for sale, or can you suggest someone who could build me one?
It seems that there may be a real market for such an aftermarket bridge of higher quality.

Thanks!

You sometimes see old hollowbody bridges on Ebay...I picked up a Univox one for a hollowbody project a while back. It does take patience. You don't want TOO wide of a contact area, because then the bridge has to exactly match the contour of the instrument.

Memory tells me that I found some similar bridges at guitar parts sources, but they weren't cheap. Ebay and patience might be the best solution. I know that Lyle, Univox and Epiphone all used the same bridges on their 60's and 70's hollowbodies.
