need "no-mod-replacement" for Fender reverse tuners

Sign in to disble this ad
I can't stand them, but they're on a nice vintage 63 Fender P that I love playing.

I want to put regular tuners on with the same screw hole placement. What am I looking for?

Thanks!

Hipshot makes some, but I think they're reverse geared too.

I was right. Sigh

OP,
What is it about the original reverse tuners that you don't like?

Some people can't get used to the reverse aspect. It just seems counter-intuitive.

Gotoh GB640s fit the bill, and they are standard geared.
The GBR640s are reverse winding.
They're excellent tuners.

When you say "regular tuners", I assume you mean non-reversed gears?
In that case, the hipshots and Gotohs won't work.

I'm not sure if anyone makes a vintage (Pre-CBS) tuner that is non-reverse.

C.Linton about sums it up. been playing guitar and bass all my life and i prefer the non-reverse behavior. a minor nit, i know, but if i can have my cake and eat it too...

Call these guys below. I just got a set of GOTOH Res-o-lite Vintage Reverse Style tuners for my CS64.

They said they have the Vintage style Tuners that are not reverse wind in stock. They call them 'In Line". When I ordered mine, I had a conversation w/ the sales guys to verify mine the set I wanted was indeed reverse before shipping. They're not cheap! But,they are very nice! Smooth and light!

Non-reverse
