Need Nut Advice...

Sign in to disble this ad
OK. About 3 months ago I tried an experiment on Ken Smith #41 which is a 4 string built around 1980...

I put B-E-A-D strings on her. I did nothing to adjust the nut as I did not know if i would like this bass in B-E-A-D. I love it! I want to keep it B-E-A-D forever. Now it needs something done with the nut.

Here's the question- New nut, and carefully store the old one in case I (gasp) ever sell her?

Or get the original nut filed? Original is some fantastic brass thing- looks very one of a kind. Could seriously affect resale value to alter the nut??
