Need Steinberger Pivot Plate

Sign in to disble this ad
Does anyone have any idea how to make, acquire, or install a Steinberger pivot plate (like those on the L series bass for attaching the shoulder strap) ? http://www.talkbass.com/forum/attach...7&d=1164847818. I want to use it on an NS Stick style eight string bass.

Hi.

If I wanted one, I'd probably cut it out from plywood.

Regards

If you can determine where you'd like the pivot to be and can work either wood or maybe aluminum I'm sure you could work it out. If you want it to lock in place it's a little more tricky, but if you want it free to pivot or with some friction in the pivot you'd just select some bushings from the parts bin at Home Depot, run a screw through with some appropriate washers, and you're done.

NS Designs makes a Boomerang strap system for their cellos and basses. Check it out at Interchangeable Support Systems . They're kinda pricey, though.
