My Hamer USA Cruis Bass with maple neck and fretboard has what I think is a Gibson style truss rod bolt (non allen wrench).
I cannot find a wrench that will fit in the very tight space.
I have a socket that fits (#8 metric) for can not get the leverage
needed to turn it, all the attachments are to large.
Should I just take it to a tech to adjust?
I've put on heavier strings and it needs about a 1/4 turn to tighten.

I've put on heavier strings and it needs about a 1/4 turn to tighten. | Go to a well stocked hardware store and look at the wrenches with socket heads. (They have handles like screwdrivers) You should be able to find one that fits. I bought a couple for use with Gibson style truss rod nuts. For a couple guitars, the socket head was a bit too tight for the cavity so a ground the outside down a bit with a grinding wheel. |

| | | | It's a 5/16" thinwall hex socket, same size as a Gibson wrench. The 8mm will be a little too large.
If you can't get a dealer to sell or give you one, Stew-Mac carries them. |

I got this used from e-bay last year with no tools.
I may check at a bigger tool store, my local Ace Hardware did not have it, but they had a kinda small selection.
If I can't find it, guess I'll just find a tech, the nearest tech is about a 40 minute drive for me one way.
This is my 3rd Cruise bass, the previous 2 had allen wrench nuts and both were rosewood fretboards. My 3rd and current Cruise has a maple fretboard, I guess that's why they used a different nut.

Yeah, stock, give me a day to send it. I've seen one or two on e-bay with maple, could have been a custom order.
