Need Truss Rod Cover

Sign in to disble this ad
I bought a Peavey USA Dyna bass that is missing truss rod cover. It's the curved style covers and I'm having a hard time finding one on line. Ideas? Suggestions?
Thanks,
Jack

Allparts has a few options although you might have to drill a few holes to make it work.

Thanks fb. All of them there are flat. The Dyna curves up on the end.

I made one for one of my Peaveys. The biggest problem is finding a piece of plastic, I got this from another TBer as a cheap way to make control covers and pick guards.

Get a piece of 6 inch white drainage pipe at your hardware store. Not the thick stuff for pressurized water, The walls should be about 1/8 of an inch thick.

Cut a piece about 6 inches long with a hacksaw. then cut it longways. Put the piece on a cookie sheet in the oven on 250 degrees for about five minutes or until it is flat. Let it cool and you got a flat piece to work with. I keep this stuff around and use it for all kinds of projects.

Cut the approximate shape with a dremmel or hacksaw. Use a grinder or sandpaper to complete the shape then and heat it with a lighter and push it into the curve and let it cool. This will take a few attempts to get the contour correct.

Drill your hole and then you can paint if if you want. I left mine white as the guitar was white.

Good Luck
