New Bass Project help/suggestions needed

My friend gave me these parts last night, he said that he would never use them for anything.
I am going to need tuners, pickups, preamp, strap buttons, screws to bolt the neck on, and a ton of other parts that I can't think of at the moment. I think it would be nice to get some pickups with wood covers that match the top of the bass, I don't have the resources to do it myself, is there anyone here on the list that can do that for me? Also, what kind of pickups do you suggest?

Once together I think it will be a pretty good bass.
