New Bass and the strings buzz (tried to adjust the bridge)

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello guys, im another noob out there, that are searching for help (and yes, i've googled and sorry 4 my bad english)

The case is that today i've received my Squier Jazz Bass Deluxe V, and when a play specially the B string (5th) and a little bit the E string (4th) without using any fret, i get a buzz sound, and ive tried adjusting the bridge and nothing. The buzz in the E string does not bother me very much, but the B string is pretty annoying. Some idea? Like i said, ive tried adjusted the bridge to bring the string up, but nothing special happened. Am i doing something wrong? Maybe those strings are with problems?

Try rewinding the strings so that they are lower on the tuning pegs, so that they press tightly against the nut slots. Probably this is where the noise is coming from.

With the Bass plugged into an amp and played in a relaxed manner does the buzz sound through the entire note or does it sound during the fading (end) of the plucked energy?

Is the size appropriate for the nut cutout? Have you measured the level of relief in the neck?

Well, thx in advance for all. When I play relax it doenst buzz, but it is just to play with the pick or strong with the fingers and then it starts; and then its from the beginning not in the end.

And the two last question: no idea XD
