New bridge = new strings?

Title says it all... Need a new crappy bridge to replace my old crappy bridge. I use old and dead RS66LE's on my ESP LTD B-50. What's the consensus?

Is the question on whether you should replace the strings when replacing the bridge as well? I'm just unsure what question is being asked here.

Pretty much. I can word it a 3rd way. If you get a new bridge, is it a good idea to reuse the old strings?

If there isn't anything wrong with them, why not?

I replaced the "steel" saddles on my MIM Jazz bass with Wilknson Brass saddles and I didn't need to change the strings. The whole bass sounded new and improved and for less than 15 bucks!

If the strings are dead and you like the sound of dead strings, go ahead and reuse them.

If the strings are dead and you do not like the sound of dead strings, go ahead and replace them.

If the strings are fine, go ahead and reuse them.

There is nothing wrong with reusing strings. If it were me, and they were rounds, I'd replace them. But I like new/bright strings.

That probably costs just as much as a full tank in a hummer. Especially since by the time you see another gas station, you gotta stop for more.

Since you say you have old dead strings on it, yes its well past time top replace them anyway. Unless you like that sound of old dead strings.
