I have one, and I have a badass ii on it. I dropped it on today. You have to fill four of the five original screw holes then re-drill the holes for the bad ass. It makes some improvement on tone, and a definite improvement on sustain. Its a a simple DIY.
By the way, I have a MIM with a badass ii, and they feel and sound very similar. The Squier has less bite than the MIM, but it makes a great back up.

Why gold though? The rest of the bass has Chrome hardware.
