New bridge and Tuners for American Jazz Bass Deluxe

Sign in to disble this ad
I have an American Jazz bass Deluxe from around 2008. I bought it brand new, the tuners have always had this annoying rattling to them, and the stock bridge for some reason is always lowering in action as if the screws are a tad bit small. I put pieces of credit card plastic under the saddles to prevent this.

I would like to replace both the tuners and the bridge. Any good suggestions?

You can prevent the bridge saddles from lowering by putting a dab of blue Loctite or clear nail polish on the set screws.

while you're at it, a little dab in the threads of the set screw that tensions the keys is a good idea, too.

i'd never dream of replacing the bridge or the keys on one of those basses.
