New Fender tuning gear making clicks and pops!

It's the gear on the E string only. Is it broken? Needs lube?

The gears work, just not smoothly like the others.

The bass is brand new, just delivered this week.

No one with any suggestions on what it might be? These are the new Fender ultra light tuners, they're supposed to be good tuners, I'm thinking maybe it's an easy fix?
