New jazz neck question - help please!

Sign in to disble this ad
Noob question here, please bear with me.

I have an MIJ jazz project that is pretty much done except for a neck. This is pretty much just an experiment and a backup-beater bass for me so I'm looking to spend the least possible amount of money to get it going. But of course I want it to work so here I am!

I've seen some cheap new jazz necks on eBay. I'm sure compared to original Fender or Fender licensed stuff they are trash, but would they be at least usable? Here is a link:

Also I notice most jazz necks have 2.5" neck width. I measured the neck pocket and its closer to 2.25". Is this the way it always is? Sorry, I've never installed a neck before. I need some major help! Thanks in advance...

I would run. Fast. That's not a jazz neck anyway. 1 and 5/8ths inch at the nut is a Precision width. 1 1/2'' is Jazz width.

Spend $100 and get a Mighty Mite neck. I have put a few of them on and they're probably the best bang for the buck. YMMV.
