New neck?

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok, I have a Squire P/J bass that I have upgraded some and I was thinking of putting on a jazz neck from here,

http://www.rondomusic.com/product905.html

and replacing it with my old neck. Now I have some questions:

1. Are parts from here reliable to use?
2. Would I be able to use the nut from my current P neck on the new one?
3. Could the tuners on my p bass be used on the new neck?

Thanks for listening!

i've never used their parts, but a lot of people have so i'm sure they can comment. you won't be able to use the nut from your p neck because it's too wide (that's the difference between jazz and p necks) but you can, however, buy a nut that for pretty cheap (graphtec i think is a brand that sells pre slotted nuts that are pretty inexpensive). the tuners will most likely work, you'll just have to double check that the holes are the same size.

Would I have to search for a left handed nut or just turn it around and put it in?
And is when I get the new nut do I just put it in or have to glue it in or something like that?
