New neck for Deluxe V jazz, question

Sign in to disble this ad
The neck on my MIM Deluxe Jazz V has a crack going from the Low B tuner hole to the top edge of the headstock. The crack is visible on the back the of the neck but not the top so it isn't all the way through (yet). I've always had problems setting this bass up and suspect its a problem with the neck (tho it might just need to be shimmed a bit), and I'm considering getting a Warmoth replacement. Would a 4+1 American style neck work in this body? With a Warmoth inline 5 neck, would I need to install that metal part that holds the A, D, and G strings in the nut?

Also, can anyone comment on the difference between the single pole jazz pickups and the newer split pole pick ups Fender is using? My bass is from 2000/2001 with the single pole pickups, just wondering if I should bother replacing them. Thanks

As you conversation about the discussion,
a suggestion my side is that there should be
a separate discussion forum related to it
and we must joy the time.
