Question NEW NECK< HELP!!

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok, so i have just ive got a new neck for my p-bass, to replace the existing one-- just wondered if it is a good idea to swap the current roewood on maple for a maple on maple neck? Is there a deifference in sound etc.. or is it just preference? also the neck i bought was handmade and has a high-gloss finish on the finger board, will this not get super slippy??

Cheers

yes maple on maple is brighter, snappier if you will. I have both necks and I can tell the difference when I change them around

cheers, problem is the neck i got has been cut down to fit a left handed bass, so theres nothing i can do to make it fit without using filler and making a total botch of it. so does anyone know where i can get a maple on maple neck in the uk?
