Sign in to disble this ad
Hello

I have an ibanez sr1100e ī89 with a completely screwed up neck (warped backwards at the 5th fret.. donīt ask how..). It is unrepairable so i would like to replace it.. the problem is i donīt know where to find those necks. Is is even posible to get them? if no, what other necks coult fit my bass? Help please!

ps: im from europe, and sorry for my bad grammar.

Other than finding another bass with the same neck and using that for a replacement, you may not have much luck. Otherwise you'd have to measure the neck pocket and see if one of the common replacement necks such as Warmoth could be made to fit. I don't know what the neck pocket or neck is like on your bass.

Have you contacted Ibanez? I've heard that they will sell you a replacement neck, as long as you send them the old one. For a bass that old though, I don't know if they still have anything that'll fit.

But try Ibanez first.

p.s. Your grammar is fine.

Another option would be sending it to a luthier to have the neck copied. That would probably be the most expensive, but assuring the highest chance of success.

From what I've heard, Warmoth isn't usually too willing to do custom fitting for necks, but I think that USA Custom Guitar does. Give them a call, maybe you could send them the old neck and have them reproduce it. Might be a bit cheaper than having it done by a luthier.

I think iīll try contacting ibanez. If it doesnīt work i will give it to a local luthier to copy it. The warmoth thing would be pretty expensive and complicated for me(shipping to usa, etc.)

Tnx for your help!!
