I just bought a black P bass pickguard and the holes drilled for the tone and volume knobs is slightly smaller than the required size... thus, the pots don't fit in it! What can I do about it??
Notice that the input jack is slightly larger than the volume and tone pot holes. I guess my P bass has large pots or something, but they don't fit into the smaller holes. Any ideas?
Just get a round file of the proper size (a bit smaller than the hole already there) and ream it out. File in the direction of from top to bottm if you're concerned about a clean looking hole on the top. However, the washer on the pot will cover that up.
It's no big deal. Just stop and check your work so you don't make the hole too large.
