New pickguard for my Jazz Bass... Will it fit?

Sign in to disble this ad
http://www.warmoth.com/Pickguard/JBassPickguard.aspx

I'd like to get this pickguard for my Jazz Bass, but I don't know if it will fit.

I have a MIM Fender Standard Jazz Bass.

It says "This pickguard fits most J. BassŪ bodies with original vinyl pickguards. It may not fit some Mexican or low-cost import models"

Does that mean because my bass is Mexican made it might not fit? or because it's a Fender it will?

HELP!

I was probably going to get the Black Pearl, or the Red Pearl.

I don't really know why snakeskin showed up.

All I really need to know is what will fit.

Thanks anyway!

If your pickguard you have on your Jazz right now has 10 screw holes to hold the pickguard on......Warmoth's pickguard also has 10 according to the pics.sooooo by all accounts it should line up and fit but check closely for the screw holes on your bass first..

You will probably find that some screws line up, and some don't. This was my experience with my MIJ Jazz when I got a Warmoth guard for it. I made it work by filling/redrilling the holes that were close but not close enough, and simply making new holes where they were WAY off.
If you buy a guard from them, check the fit before you remove the protective film. As long as the film is intact they will allow returns(if the routes are standard).

in My Experience the warmoth pickguards do not fit the fender neck pocket or the jazz control plate and there are gaps around both their guards are made to fit their basses only.
