New to playing with a pick, what do you set your string height to?

So I'm in a new band and I'm really enjoying myself in this new lineup. They asked if I could play with a pick on a few of their more rock'n songs. I'm cool with that, not a problem. But when I get going with the pick I'm getting so much fret buzz it's driving me nuts. I normally have my string height set on the high side (I think anyway) pushing 7/64 on the bass side. What do you think I should do (besides telling them to **** off)?

MOD EDIT: First and foremost, please reread the usage agreement. All profanity needs to be fully masked.

maybe you should adjust the bow of the neck. or maybe you should just pick with a lighter attack.

Yeah I guess I'll have to do a height adjustment, I gave it some more relief and it was not enough. I play a newer MM Stingray with one of those heavy duty truss rods. They tell you there's no need to do bridge adjustments and all the height adjustments can be done by the truss screw. Not true. This will be my second bridge height adjustment from the factory setup.
I would pick with a lighter attack but it's punk rock ya know...

You shouldnt really have to adjust anything to be able to play with a pick should you?

I can play fingers and with a pick without any adjustments to anything, maybe you are attacking with too much force.

i usually keep my action pretty low. my string height is always fairly low.... but you could play with them high if you wanted.. its all a personal preferrence.
