New Ric 4003 - mechanical buzz/rattle on the G string saddle

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys,

I have a brand new Fireglow 4003 and I am having some difficulty with the G string saddle. It seems to rattle/buzz when I play the string with any amount of strenght. It also rattles significantly more, should I dampen all the strings with my left hand and pluck the G string. Actually, the G string saddle rattles when I mute the strings and pluck the D string.
Any thoughts as to how to rectify this problem. The rattle does not come through the amp, I can only hear it acoustically.
If you need more info, I'll do my best.
thanks for your consideration.

I had some buzz on the G string on my 09 4003 too, in my case it was the string. Have you changed strings yet?

No, I haven't changed the strings as of yet, I'm still using the Ric strings it came with...

Make sure the saddle screws are the same height so the.saddle is level. If that is good check all of them. If they're good, check your tuner stems, really, that can be the trouble and it bonds like the bridge. Then check strings, witness points.
