New stuff for Squier P-bass Special

Sign in to disble this ad
I wonder if the Badass 2 bridge or the Gotoh 201 will fit my Squier? Been reading alot of good stuff about the BA on here but my friend at the local store recommended the Gotoh 201, it's also cheaper than the BA. Do they fit and do you prefer anyone of them or another i haven't mentioned?

Does Hipshot make any tuners that fit my squier? Does the squier have any different specs than fenders?

It depends on what year Squier you have, my 2001 had the 1/2" holes in it. The one I saw new in the shop looked like it had 3/8s or something smaller. You should measure to make sure on yours. I've been looking at the Ultralites myself...

I put a Schaller on my Squier, it wasn't a direct replacement but it looks very very cool . The BA2 SHOULD be a direct replacement. If in doubt I think the measurments are online for the BA2, so you can measure the holes on your body now.

Good luck!

since i know someone will have to say this..i will. a possible opinion of people would be that putting any upgrade on a squier would be wasting money that would be better saved to buy a better bass...or something like that. kinda like put 'phat rimms' on a...*insert crappy car name here* but then again if you really like your squier and wanna upgrade it...go ahead.

Do you know the name of the schaller bridge of yours?

You'll want to get a micrometer or something to measure the post size to get the right ones, or go to your local guitar shop to see if they have an assortment they can try.

Here's pics of my new bridge etc:
Got my baby back!

This is the bridge I got:

Good Luck with your Squier pimping!

But unlike "phat rims" which do nothing but make a car look trashy, a bridge, and any other parts replaced on the Squire will improve it's sound. I have a Squire P-Bass Special 5 string. I pulled out the frets, painted the pickguard and replaced the stock crap pickups with Carvin J99's. For under $300 including mods, that is a great bass. Easy playing, nice looking and decent sounding.

+1 My Squier sounds pretty tremendous now with the improvements.
