New Tuners For An 80's MIJ Jazz

Hi all - Ongoing project here. I need new tuners for my MIJ Jazz Bass. It's proving hard to find the correct - or at least similar hardware.

The old tuners are sort of slipping, sort of loose. I'd just love to get my hands on new machines...

So...I was going to go with either Hipshot Tuners (HB2?) or Schallers, but after inquiring, I'm not sure about the compatibility issues there.

Has anyone been down this path? Any recommendations? Pitfalls I should be aware of?

I have the same problem except mine is a mij pbass any help ?

This probably won't help but someone replaced them with ultralites:

The picture of the back of the tuners on the Aerodyne J-Bass seems to match my current tuners. Pictures are worth 1000 words.

So...that gives me a Hipshot "ultralight" option... Very cool.

I'd also be interested in anyone who might have done a replacement with a more vintage looking (and weighted) set of tuners. Have to keep digging...
