newb question: would separating neck and body for transport screw up the bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm thinking of buying a bass from overseas second hand, except the size doesn't fit in the USPS system or something? so it either has to be done by separating the two part or having to double the cost of shipping to $180

I have no idea about any set up stuff.. so is screwing the parts back together an easy process or will it possibly stuff up the sound and tone?

thanks for any input

Very easy to put back together with a screwdriver. If you aren't comfortable doing it, it will probably be cheaper to have your local shop do it than the cost of doubled shipping costs.

Shouldn't be a problem. You'll be surprised how easy it is, and it will give you a good chance to practice setting up your bass.

Very easy to do. Just wrap the body and neck separately to prevent finish damage.
