Nickel vs. Chrome (bridge)

I’m currently looking into purchasing the BAD ASS II. I noticed that it comes in both chrome and nickel. I know that chrome looks a little brighter but is there a difference in sound? Do the sadles need to be slotted?

There won't be a difference in sound...if there is it will be so slight you'd never notice. They are both made from brass...

No, they don't need to be slotted. If you want really low action, or play with a heavy hand you might want them to be slotted though.

Chrome, nickel, and gold are plated onto the brass after it has been machined and polished. As such, they have little influence on tone.

The Bad Ass II comes with unslotted saddles. It is highly recommended that the saddles be slotted to one half the depth/diameter of the strings. Nut files are the tools of choice. A small needle file can be used but, for most people, will not allow them to produce an accurate slot. It tends to make a simple job more difficult and time consuming. A tech can perform this task for a nominal sum during the course of a setup or string change.
