no finish

If a bass has no finish, how do you clean it?

I'd probably use naptha with a soft cotton cloth and maybe a fine white abrasive pad. There's probably lots of oils and grease in there along with other gunk. Could be some wax too. I'd probably finish up with some alcohol like methyl hydrate (shellac thinner). Then I'd put some kind of at least a minimal finish on it-tung oil being one of the easiest.
