No Sustain???

I have a Korean made G&L Tribute L2500 I use for some live shows. I recently replaced the strings and discovered a problem. My B strings lacks any sustain. It sounds as if I am aggressively muting it. I checked the bridge, saddle, nut and tuning key. I used Ernie Ball's Regular Slinky 5-string Bass Nickel Wound .045 - .130. I have never used these strings before. Could it be the strings?

Could be you got a dead one. If you didn't have the problem before, and now you do, the string would seem to be the problem.
