Non-marring socket or wrench needed

Can someone recommend a non-marring socket or wrench for installing the nut on a set of Gotoh tuners. I'll be installing a set of black tuners and do not want to damage the finish. My first thought was to find composite sockets that are often used for jam nuts on airborne electronics connectors. These can be pretty expensive though. What tools do you use? Thanks

Just use a regular socket or box end wrench. If you do the job sober you will not damage the finish. Y'know all the black hardware you've seen on other basses? It was all installed with regular tools.

This may sound really OCD but I've wrapped vinyl tape around the jaws of a crescent / adjustable wrench to minimize scarring.

A regular socket set, used with normal care will do the job just fine and not damage the finish. If you're just exploring other possibilities, I've used Knipex tools for decades, and one tool in particular gets used a lot. Smooth jaws that open and close parallel. Pricey, but lasts a lifetime...

You can also cut a square of kitchen garbage bag drape it over the nut and use a normal socket

It really doesnt need to be super tight , just snug.

Masking tape on jaws of wrench, snug it. Done

Tape is the answer. I use Gaffers because its tougher than masking and grippy'r electrical. remember snug, DO NOT ATTEMPT OVER TIGHEN.
