For a long time I had my E string downtuned to D. Then I replaced the E string with a fatter (.125) roundwound and tuned it to D. Now I have restrung just by moving everything down one notch and deleting the G string. I have not had the nut re-cut because this is an experiment. I am having a helluva time getting the intonation right. Does the mis-fit of the strings in the nut have anything to do with this? I understand that the intonation will never be perfect, but...
