Nut replacement question.

I'm looking to have my tech replace the nut on my Squier Matt Freeman P. It's pretty worn down on the E and causing some string rattle. Can someone recommend a replacement? And with it being a maple fretboard does it sit in the fretboard like a rosewood board or is it glued on top of the board?

The Nut Width on the Bass is 42mm. Neck Radius 9.5"

Would something like this work? http://www.allparts.com/BN-2350-0U0-...Nut_p_834.html

Thanks.

If the E string slot has worn that much, you'll get rattle at F1. Anywhere else--it's not the nut!

Any replacement nut, will need adjustment

also, if you did need it replaced (if it was just the open string rattling, and you didn't want him to just do a drop-fill or shim it up a little bit), any tech worth a damn wouldn't need you to go looking for replacements, he would have all that himself, and could explain to you the options and choices.
