Nut Replacement for Washburn XB-100

Sign in to disble this ad
The nut just cracked on this rather modest bass and the shop wants $60 to replace it. The bass costs $75. I feel confident I can replace it. Where would I find the part? What is the procedure for removing and replacing it?

Google it. Honestly. Save someone an hours worth of typing for a 5 minute job. It's a cheap fix.

Here is a sample

also www.graphtec.com they sell graphite nuts (duh).

measure and record your exact size (L, W,H) before shopping.
IIRC they offer both slotted and unslotted blanks that can be shaped or modified as necessary (wear a particle mask when sanding, dust NG for yer lungs) so, theoretically, they could be made to fit just about any application.

you ever do a nut replacement before?

good luck.........duc
