Nut Spacing and Hipshot Bridges

Sign in to disble this ad
All of my basses have the same bridge spacing (3/4"). The only real problem I have is adjusting from my F Bass to my Elrick because the nut spacing is a bit different.

I'm thinking a possible solution could be to bring in the Elricks nut spacing slightly. The Fingerboard width is 3" - 1 7"8". Any idea how far I could safely get the nut spacing in?

Also, my Elrick has a Hipshot A bridge with adjustable spacing. I have the B string all the way in and it is still just slightly wider in spacing than the others (3/4"). Any idea on how to fix this. I've also been thinking of getting a replacement bridge, possibly a Hipshot B to match my F Bass. Would this have any drawbacks?
