Question Nut spacing for octave strings

Sign in to disble this ad
My 8 string bass needs a new nut, the previous tech literally spaced out the strings on the nut evenly, and some are too low or too high

Brought it to a local music store to have the nut replaced and he wasn't sure of the spacing for the octave strings on the nut.
Seen the suggested spacing for a 12 string guitar at 7/64" but what is it for bass.
Looked at the nut scale/ruler at stew mac and it doesn't show anything for octave strings.
It's for a Hagstrom H8 with a 1 1/2" fret board at the nut, 1 5/8" with the binding
