Ok.. I'm in the mood to waste a few bass neck nuts!
Nut sizes from 1 7/16" thru 1 3/4". Mostly the 4 string Fenders for now, but the Ernie 5 needs it too..
Please lend your experience on where to buy, which type, and any setup advice or links to get me started..

Q. Which typically have flat bottoms and which are arched bottom?

Appreciate the help,
Bryan

It's not all that difficult, the process is the same for all stringed instruments. The first nut I ever cut was for a bass I made 8 years ago. The one single thing that helped the most was correct gauge files for the strings I planned on using.

Check out this tutorial, its for guitar but it is the same process. A feeler gauge is handy for getting the action at the nut correct. There are plenty of resources on line, check it out, this was just the first one I came across.
