Occasional popping sound on A string

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been playing my Peavey Fury (USA made) 4-string a lot lately, and I've noticed that I occasionally get a popping sound when I get on the A string a bit. It's just a pop that I hear through the monitors when I'm onstage, and both my keyboard player and our sound guy have mentioned it to me. Other than that the bass sounds wonderul...just switched it to flats. Any idea what might cause that? It doesn't do that on any other string, and I've just had a professional setup done on it.
