so, i'm tinkering with my bass because i can't get the right "feel" outta it, and i decide i might try to shim it. Well i found out i need the exact opposite of shimming. Any one know how to do it?

Using shims you should be able to set the neck pitch to any angle you need. Try using a half a shim only on the front half of the neck pocket and see what that does. That's what I do with my Thunderchief.

Hi.

I'm not exactly sure what You mean, but routing the neck pocket deeper and/or shaving the neck heel would be my idea of reverse shimming.

If it's just the neck angle in relation to the body You're trying to change, as far as I know, it's called shimming in any of the four directions.

Regards
Sam

Wait, stop. Setup is much more a science than an art, please do not decide you want to shim a bass without any reason.

Tell us what you feel is wrong with your bass.
