P-Bass Crack

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,

First of all, I'm new to the talkbass forums but a long time reader. I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on a little crack I have on my P-bass (it's actually a Tokai Hardpuncher...). It has only been in my possesion for a short while. The crack was there when I bought and doesn't seem to grow. Maybe I should take the hipshot off to see how long it really is. Might the Hipshot tuner be the cause of the crack? Could it be that's it's just the finish that has cracked and not the wood? I'll post a picture (it was the best I could do with my phonecam).

Thanks!

I wouldn't worry about it. It doesn't look all that deep.

My fix for those small cracks is just water-thin Super Glue. Run it over the crack, and let it wick in until it will not accept anymore. Wipe off the excess with a cloth dampened with acetone (which will not harm the polyester finish). Done!
