P-bass help?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm trying to find pickup and bridge covers in black for a P-bass copy. Not as easy as it sounds.

The only place that I can find that has a pickup cover in black is Carvin, but I'm not sure if it'll fit.

I emailed Carving, and they weren't sure, but they gave me the dimensions of theirs.

Width: 5 3/8"
- Depth: 2 1/16"
- Height: 7/8"
- Mounting screw holes (on center): 4 7/8"

Can someone measure their pickup cover on their Precision and post so I can decide if this will fit???

The Carvin pickup cover is expensive, but BassPartsResource is out of stock, so I'll go with the Carvin if it works. The bridge cover is easy to find in black.

Could just buy a chrome or nickel one and paint it... I'm probably gonna do this for my P.

What paint would stick to it? I don't want it to look cheap.

Sand it and use automotive paint. Black primer would stick well.
