i bought a new fender jazz bass (highway, america) 1 year ago.
the paint chips in several spotns on the back on the guitar.
i asked someone, and he told me there's nothing to do.
what can i do?? does it risk the bass? can it damage the wood?.

That model (Highway series) has a thinner finish of a different material than most modern instruments. It chips, cracks, scratches easier and requires more care to keep it in good condition.

It will not cause harm. It adds "Character"

You can help slow this process by being more careful about the clothes you wear (zippers, belts etc.) & wipe it down with a soft lint free cloth often.
