which paint to make neck markers?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm reversing a right handed bass to play lefty. It's a Fender bass maple neck with a very high gloss finish.

Is there any kind of paint that I can use to make the dot marks for fret position indicators on the side of the neck? I don't want to refinish the whole neck just to paint on the dots. Need something that will permanently mark on the glossy finish.

Any ideas, suggestions? would nail polish work? Thanks
