Painting Hofner Chrome Trapeze Tailpiece (Allparts)

I plan on having the tailpiece sandblasted and powdercoated.

My question is... Will the paint affect the tone?

What do you guys think?

No, but the chrome may affect the paint. Even sandblasted, seems to me that the powdercoat is unlikely to stick in the long term.

But if you want to spend the money, have a go at it and let us know whether it works.

Maybe someone here has done powdercoating over sandblasted chrome.....?

From what I have read... Chrome, if prepped right can be powdercoated. I figured that going the extra mile to have the piece sandblasted before hand would give the paint a better surface to grab onto.
