The truss rod cover screws sit directly below the D, A, and E strings. Simple solution: I just leave the stupid thing off. As it is, I still have to remove / loosen the A string to access the truss rod itself.

I definitely understand that. The one reason why it wasn't a problem for me in the 8 years that I had a Cirrus was because I only had to adjust the truss rod one time!
