Okay, so I have this vintage Peavey Fury. It is an early model, with a single Super Ferite pick installed at an angle (it looks like a T-20, really, but head stock says Fury). The neck was converted to fretless, but the action has to be really high at the bridge for the strings not to buzz, like the neck is sitting to high in the slot, something like that. I was thinking about restoring its fretted condition. I was hoping some experts on here could direct to a good source for necks, or suggest that just getting refretted is a better option.
I do not know why the neck seems to sit so high. I do not recall the their being any shims. If I use the neck microtilt, the problem just gets worse because it brings up the butt of the neck.....suggestions? |
