For Christmas, my girlfriend bought me the bass I've had my eye of for quite some time: A Black on Black 1981 Peavey T-40. It's perfect except for two things: Some fool decided to replace the steel nut with a graphtech one, and The bridge pickup only works when I put the pickups out of phase. I plan to track down a steel nut at some point, but what worries me right now is the pickup situation. I like the fullness of the in-phase sound, and the out of phase tone sounds like a junky silvertone to me. The neck pup sounds great, now all i have to do is get the bridge one working. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is? |

If the switch takes a lick it can get wonky. Not a totally easy fix but not too bad if you're good with tools and can solder.
