Peavey t-40 truss rod..?

Sign in to disble this ad
Before you tell me to search or whatever for an answer, I have looked, and found that I need a special 'peavey torsion wrench' for adjusting the truss rod...or something 5/16'', but...WHERE do I do the adjusting on this thing...? I don't see where to adjust the truss....anyone know where it is?

Also, on the back, where the neck is bolted on, theres a plate that says PEAVEY and a little hole that I can use an allen wrench in.....what does that do?

The truss rod cover should be just past the nut. The little hole on the neck plate is a neck tilt adjustment. Go to Peavey's website and search their online manuals for the T40. Tells you what's what and how to do the adjustments.

Seriuosly, read how to make the adjustments before you try it. You've got to loosen the neck plate screws before turning the neck tilt adjustment screw.

Havent tried anything, don't want to ruin my bass, heh.

And I read on it, it told me how to do it, just not where to find it. I also just found that its the string height adjustment (the allen wrench place on the neck plate., but, when I use the allen wrench, I see no visible change.

The truss rod nut is under the coverplate on the headstock(at the end of the fingerboard by the nut). You have to unscrew the single screw to remove the coverplate.

To use the neck tilt you must loosen the four neckbolts prior to adjusting the allen head screw. Once you have adjusted the tilt you have to retighten the neck bolts. This may take a couple tries to get the angle to your liking. Individual string height adjustments should be made at the bridge.
