Phenolic fretboard ? I have a 97 modulus flea bass. The fret board is fading in some areas. And we're we had to get some ca glue off by lightly sanding. Is there anything that will bring the color back out of the phenolic fret board. |
I would ask Modulus for advice. |
You can never reach them. I've tried email and calling horrible customer service. |
Emailed three times . No response ever. Horrible support. |
a little wd 40 |
There is a dye that is used for fiberglass that might work, I could find out what it is if you want. |
That would be great. |
Wd40 and a toothbrush is what modulus recommends for cleaning their fretboard. |
Thanks |
It worked I tried wd40 tonight and it brought it to life thanks everyone. |

Murphy's oil soap seems to bring fretboards back to life and it smells good.cleans the grime off too. |

Zon recommends wd40 for cleaning the phenolic boards, it will be fine |
Thanks |
Got a email from moduls Not to worry, WD-40 will not damage your fingerboard, it is what we use and recommend. However, that is only for phenolic fingerboards (all Modulus Flea basses have phenolic boards), if you have a Modulus neck with a wood fingerboard we recommend using mineral oil.
