Pick Guard and Tone

Sign in to disble this ad
i recently took off the pick guard on my fender jazz and have now noticed a muffled tone when playing...i've changed the strings and thought it might be my ampeg b100R but i don't want to take the amp in to a shop if it might not be the problem...so can it be the case that the removal of the pick guard changed my tone and sound???
thanks!

Hi, not unless when you took the gaurd off you did something to the pickup, knocked it maybe, even that shouldnt affect tone. Other than that there is no way taking the pickgaurd off would affect tone.
