Pick up/string alighnment

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,
I bought a second hand Fender Highway 1 jazz with badass bridge & love it except I've notice that the strings don't sit over the pick ups perfectly. The E string sits about 1mm near the A and the G sits about 1mm near the D.
This doesn't affect the sound & I'm not sure if I'm being a bit picky.
Can anyone point me in the right direction - I don't have the bass with me as I'm at work.
cheers

Check the string saddles to see if they were put in correctly. Someone before you may have had the bridge apart and put the saddles in wrong. That would mis-align the strings w/ the poles.

Cheers for the reply, it seems obvious now but I wouldn't have thought for myself.

Maybe I'm just not seeing straight, but I've never seen a Fender where the strings and pickup poles *did* line-up exactly!
