Unhappy Pickgaurd screws loose

Sign in to disble this ad

I've taken the pickgaurd on and off my Pbass more times than I can remember, now some of the screws have lost there grip.
Is there any glue or putty that can be used?
I still want to be able to unscrew them.
Or do I need to get longer screws? I so, where??

Hey good to see a fellow Aussie!

Easy fix, get some small slithers of wood like off a match stick or anything really and jam them in the hole with a tiny, tiny bit of wood glue.

Leave it over night then re screw the screws the next day... Fixed!

Also works good for strap buttons too...

I use cocktail sticks. Personally I wouldn't use wood glue. No need.

I use toothpicks.
Also, glue is a good idea on things like the strap buttons. You wouldn't want the strap to come flying off and your baby to fall to the floor...
Unless you like the beat-up relic'd look.
