Question Pickguard for '77 Mustang bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi! I have a '77 USA Mustang bass but the thumb rest was removed by the previous owner. The current pickguard is black with two tiny holes in it (these pickguards are made with holes to accommodate the thumb-rest screws). I'm looking to get a new one in a different color. Question: Anyone know if the Japanese-reissue will fit? (I see it has no thumb-rest-screw holes.) I guess what I'm asking is that except for the fact that the Japanese-reissue pick guard has no thumb-rest-screw holes and that the G string horn is a little sharper, can I use the Japanese-reissue pickguard on the '77 USA bass?

Anyone know anything about this?

Worst comes to worst, I'll get one made for the USA model and live with the "fang marks."

Thanks, all!
